Practical Ideas for my Film Opening:

To Do:

  • Keep It simple
  • Make sure titles don't interfere and do fit well with the on-screen action
  • Make sure the mise-en-scene accurately
  • Use a variety of shots
  • Keep editing smooth
  • Use appropriate sounds that create the desired effect
  • Put thought into composition of framing
  • Make sure the genre is clear
  • Give some narrative
  • Be practical with locations, props and actors

Not To Do:

  • Break continuity rules
  • Break the 180 degrees rule
