- Producing material appropriate for audience and task.
- Using titles appropriately according to institutional conventions;
In my film opening I used titles with a font that fits the genre and added a fliker animation. However it may not look professional enough.
- Using sound with images and editing appropriately for the task set
I used sound that builds tension for the first part of the opening. Then I used creepy music that matched the characters. I added flickering to certain parts during editing to make a more supernatural edge to my film opening.
- Shooting material appropriate to the task set; including controlled use of the camera, attention to framing, variety of shot distance and close attention to mise-en-scene;
I shot my film in the woods as it matched the generic genre of horror. I used a tripod to control the camera although sometimes the footage was shaky. I mostly used center framing but used a variety of shots including over the shoulder, close up, long shots and medium shots. As for mise-en-scene we used make-up and costume to show certain connotations. Lighting wasn't experimentted with as it was hard to control the daylight and waould be hard to film in the dark.
- Using editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer and making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions and other effects.
Again I used a fliker effect to create mystery of the character and only used certain footage to created a more fast paced story. I used transitions at the end such as a fade to white as it shows the light of the present day giving the connotations of a happier atmosphere.
